Support Public Lands Founder to ‘Thru-Hike’ Redlands, California

by | Jan 12, 2021

Inspired by their ‘Fresh Air Challenge,’ Support Public Lands Founder and long-distance hiker Michelle ‘SuperClassy’ Markel has teamed up with Redlands Conservancy to ‘thru-hike’ the city to raise funds for both the Conservancy’s Land Trust program and Support Public Lands’ transition to 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization status. Over three consecutive days this month, she will complete a roughly 56-mile route with more than 6500’ of elevation gain that includes all of the Conservancy’s 40+ miles of trails and more than a half-dozen area parks and preserves.

Want to help? Be a Thru-Hike Sponsor!

1. Visit the ‘Sponsor a Walker’ page (9)
Name & ID of walker: Michelle Markel (or SuperClassy); ID# 9876543

2. Choose a flat donation or per-mile contribution for 56 miles total.

3. Select your payment option, and that’s it! Thank you for helping Support Public Lands AND Redlands Conservancy!

The ‘Fresh Air Challenge’ is a fundraising event by Redlands Conservancy designed to encourage outdoor activity, with a goal of a million total miles walked, run, or bicycled by participants. This is an ideal collaboration opportunity as the mission of Support Public Lands includes providing information about outdoors recreation opportunities on our public lands and ways to get involved with local nonprofit land partners such as the Conservancy.

Want to participate in the Fresh Air Challenge yourself?

Visit the overview and registration page.
Registration is $25/person or $40/household
Encourage your family & friends to sponsor your miles – raise $150 or more, and receive a t-shirt printed with the original artwork above!
(NOTE: all funds you raise will benefit Redlands Conservancy only)
Make sure to tag your adventures with #MillionMiles4Redlands and #FreshAirChallenge on social!

Look for Redlands Conservancy to be added to the website along with several area parks & preserves, and trail vids with trip reports at YouTube.com/supportpubliclands soon!
