Herngt ‘Aki’ Preserve

Located southeast of Redlands, the 341-acre Herngt ‘Aki’ Preserve in Live Oak Canyon feels entirely removed from the southern California suburban sprawl surrounding it. Originally the territory of the Cahuilla, Serrano, and Gabrieleño, it has been managed by the Redlands Conservancy in accordance with an agreement with the City of Redlands since 2015.

Open year-round; day-use only. Ideal seasons are late fall – early spring.

Parking, toilets, and picnic tables are available in Oakmont Park at the north-end access to the Preserve. The Preserve may also be accessed from the south via Gateway Ranch at 31313 Live Oak Canyon Road in Redlands.
