I visited The Station at 19E in 2018 during my thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail. This is one of two hostels that owners Dave & Karen have in Roan Mountain, and is a fantastic option for hikers on a tighter budget (unless you like beer, in which case you are probably going to be in trouble because there is a brewpub in the basement). Unbelievably hiker-friendly, Dave & Karen go to great lengths to ensure that passing AT hikers get everything they need while in town. During my visit, Dave was generous enough to take time out from shuttling hikers, serving beer, and attending to hostel and pub guests to talk a bit about this fantastic trail stop he and Karen have created!
