Why Clayton? This is where rafting became a big thing in the United States, right here on the Chattooga. Deliverance was filmed here. This river is why President Jimmy Carter pressed for the Wild & Scenic River Act.
What are some of your favorite spots on public lands nearby? [Running] the Tallulah River down into the Tallulah Gorge (get a permit from the building at the top); the Chauga River; Rabun Bald.
