Name / Trail Name: Kristo the Lion
What’s your primary activity on public lands? Long-distance hiking and working in the logging industry
What do you do when you’re not adventuring? I regularly go camping, fishing, hunting, play music, create art.
Why is the PCT special to you? I was raised near Lake Tahoe, and growing up to realize the dream of hiking a trail from Mexico to Canada that also passes right through my home area makes it very special. The PCT and the National Long Trails Act truly are two of America’s greatest gifts.
When did you first learn of the PCT? I was 18 when I realized what the true reality of the PCT was. Camping with some friends, whose parents had thru-hiked in the late 70’s or early 80’s, planted the seed in my head that I would spend 6 months on trail doing the same.
